PITTSBURGH — A 7-year-old girl battling Leukemia got to take a ride on the Zamboni at the Pittsburgh Penguins game on Thursday night.
Kennedy is a second grader at Hopewell Elementary battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
This was Kennedy’s first Penguins game, and she got the chance to ride across the ice during an intermission as the Penguins played the New York Islanders.
This Zamboni ride was made possible by the Penguins and a group called the Casey Cares Foundation, a nonprofit that provides uplifting programs for critically ill children and their families.
