Penguins forward Brian Boyle undergoes successful knee surgery

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that forward Brian Boyle underwent successful knee surgery on Monday.

The procedure on his left knee was performed by team physician Dr. Dharmesh Vyas at UPMC Presbyterian-Shadyside.

The Pens said Boyle has an expected recovery time of six weeks.

He was injured during Game 6 against the New York Rangers on May 13.
