Penguins make dreams come true, sign kids to special contracts through Make-A-Wish program

PITTSBURGH — It was a dream come true for a group of six kids. Pittsburgh Penguins General Manager Jim Rutherford signed them to special one-day contracts through the Make-A-Wish program.

Per the terms of their one-day deals, the group of youngsters was treated to breakfast in the locker room with Penguins players, a special spot to watch the team practice and afterwards, a meet and greet on the ice.

All of the families will also be attending Sunday’s home game at PPG Paints Arena as the Penguins take on the Red Wings.

The group of kids involved hail from Make-A-Wish chapters in South Carolina, New York, Minnesota, New Jersey and parts of Pennsylvania.

You can watch all of the action right here on Channel 11 on Sunday as the Pens take on the Red Wings starting at 11:30 a.m. with 11 on the Ice followed by puck drop!
