Bjugstad spent two seasons with the Penguins, appearing in 45 games -- scoring 10 goals and 16 points.

The forward missed a large part of the 2019-20 season before the pause after core muscle surgery. He had spinal surgery for a herniated disk in late May. In his 13 games this past season, Bjugstad had one goal and one assist.

Bjugstad is a Minnesota native, and was named Minnesota’s Mr. Hockey as a high school senior. He also played college hockey for the University of Minnesota.
