San Jose's mayor fulfills 1st part of Stanley Cup Final wager after Pens' win

PITTSBUGRH — Making good on his promise to Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo took to social media Monday to post a photo of himself wearing a Sidney Crosby jersey.

Prior to the 2016 Stanley Cup Final, Peduto and Liccardo

The losing mayor was required to make a donation to the winning mayor’s charity of choice and to post a photo on social media wearing the captain’s jersey of the opposing team on the day following the final game of the series.

The jersey would also be donated to the winning mayor’s charity of choice to be auctioned off as a fundraiser.

Peduto’s charity of choice was the Hill House Association.

The losing mayor was also required to send a gift basket full of local treats to the winner of the wager.

As of Monday, Liccardo had made good on one of the three wager requirements, posting the photo of himself with the Crosby jersey.
