Pittsburgh fans make their presence known in Pyeongchang

Whether it was flashy American outfits, black and gold sports gear, or tell tale signs -- Pittsburghers made their presence known in Pyeongchang.

“We're obviously USA fans but we didn't want to miss a chance to represent Pittsburgh when we were out here,” said Mariah Vaglia of Wexford.

Hundred of miles away from Pittsburgh, Channel 11 found Michele Mouton who just had just landed.

“I got my old school Steelers hat,” said Mouton.

And headed straight to a hockey game.

“It's important to represent where I’m from in Pittsburgh,” said Mouton.

She will begin teaching English in South Korea next month.

Trevor and Heather Rusert do the same.

They spent more than 15 years living in Pittsburgh.

“It has been really cool to see so many people representing so many countries, so many different cultures,” Trevor said.

“It's been amazing, we're still buzzing from the whole thing,” Heather said.

Channel 11’s Gordon Loesch didn't get to actually meet Christian Sanders, but this Pittsburgher left his mark along with a trail of pictures at sporting events across Pyeongchang.

Amanda Malecky brought her terrible towel to cheer on her cousin.

Then, there was a group from Wexford and Bridgeville who "spelled out" their Pittsburgh devotion.

“You know, a lot of people. They're cheering on the Phil Kessel sign for sure. They're big fans of that,” said Lou Casele of Bridgeville.

And everyone Channel 11’s Gordon Loesch talked to, has had rave reviews for the Olympic hosts.
