50-50 weekend, rain showers and isolated storms Sunday

PITTSBURGH — A 50-50 weather weekend is shaping up. Saturday will be the pick day for outdoor plans with a nice mix of sun and clouds. Hit the trails, enjoy a walk in the park or some time getting flower beds ready for planting. The chance for frost looks low the next few weeks, with daytime high temps rebounding into the 70s.

Wet weather returns Sunday, and it could include the threat for a few strong thunderstorms. A round of showers and an isolated storm will move in early Sunday, so grab the rain gear if you’re heading to the Pittsburgh Marathon. After a brief break, the focus turns to Sunday afternoon when the next round of showers and possible storms moves in. Early afternoon and evening will bring the highest threat for storms, so have the Severe Weather Team 11 app with you as you head out. While widespread severe weather is not expected, damaging winds could prompt a Severe Thunderstorm Warning, and you can get alerts watches and warnings right on your phone.

Check the live Severe Weather Team 11 forecast through the weekend to stay weather aware.
