Sunshine will help warm us up a bit through the day, with highs pushing near 60 degrees-but another round of showers and cold air are set to move in before sunset. Winds will also pick up through the afternoon-with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Colder air will settle in throughout the day Friday with some areas seeing mix of rain and snow. If snow accumulates in Pittsburgh, it would be the first measurable May snowfall since 1966.

Near record cold temperatures will start the weekend, with lows early Saturday below freezing. Our forecast includes a drop to 27 degrees Saturday morning, the record low temperature is 30 degrees set in 1983.
