Break in wet weather systems on Thursday with temperatures near 70

PITTSBURGH — Enjoy a break between wet weather systems Thursday before more showers roll in Friday and Saturday.

Temperatures near 70 and a nice mix of sunshine and clouds will help dry things out so you can cut the grass or take a bike ride.

Showers return late Thursday and continue off and on Friday.

A few thunderstorms are also possible, but strong to severe storms are not in the forecast at this time.

Soaking rain is a possibility, though, and Severe Weather Team 11 will be watching the forecast closely.

Many areas picked up heavy rain during Wednesday’s storms.

Our team of meteorologists will track whether the additional rain could cause flood problems.

Showers will gradually end Saturday setting up a great Mother’s Day.
