Code Orange Air Quality Action Day Friday for parts of the region

PITTSBURGH — Dry and mild for November continues. A few clouds will move through the area Thursday, but temperatures will still push well into the 60s during the day. No rain is expected.

Full sunshine is back Friday, along with warm temperatures. It will feel more like late September than November outside with high temperatures close to 70º through the weekend.

The unseasonably warm air will continue into the middle of next week before November temperatures and rain showers return.

A Code Orange Air Quality Action Day has been issued for the parts of the area for Friday. A strong temperature inversion coupled with calm winds will produce poor air quality due to fine particulate matter. Health officials said further air quality alerts could be issued in the coming days.
