Dry, unseasonably warm stretch of weather coming to an end

PITTSBURGH — Big weather changes headed our way as a season shift takes from summer to fall. Friday will start with a few early showers, then a scattered storm will be possible during the afternoon.

Any storm that develops could bring damaging winds and heavy downpours.

Steadier rain will develop around midnight and continue through noon Saturday. Rain could be heavy at times, so watch for ponding on roads as you head out.

Winds will pick up through the day Saturday, with gusts as high as 25 mph possible. Then the final piece of the season shift settles in, as temperatures drop nearly 15 degrees.
