Rain on the horizon will make for a wet Tuesday

PITTSBURGH — A stray rain shower is possible by late day, with the better chance late Monday night and into the morning Tuesday.

Gear up for a damp start to the day Tuesday. Rain will move in before sunrise, and continue off and on throughout the day. Rain will be steady at times, so expect we roads to make your commute longer.

Visibility may drop just before sunrise, too. Watch for quickly changing travel conditions.

The area will stay damp through Wednesday, then colder air will change rain showers back to snow showers as temperatures fall below freezing.

Winds will also ramp up this week, with gusts up to 25 mph Wednesday afternoon and increasing with gusts to 40 mph by Thursday.
