Quiet start to day before showers, isolated thunderstorms move in

PITTSBURGH — Get your walk and bike ride in this morning. It is a mild and quiet start to the day. A system to our west will deliver scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms this afternoon through this evening.

Winds will pick up through the day. Wind speeds will be at 10-15 mph from the south, and gusting at 25-30 mph.

Scattered showers return tomorrow, then we are dry again for Good Friday. The weekend is split with rain on Saturday and sunshine on Easter Sunday.

Two doses of cooler air is on the way. Highs today will make it into the mid 70s, then cooler air settles in behind our system today, dipping temperatures into the 60s Thursday. The second shot of cooler air comes this weekend with highs falling into the 50s. Dress warm for Easter Sunday. Temperatures will be in the 30s for Sunrise Service and afternoon highs will reach the low 50s, which is below average for this time of year.
