Storms push through region, dropping temps and heavy rain

PITTSBURGH — All severe storm alerts in the Pittsburgh region have been allowed to expire.

Keep alert to streams and creeks the next few days as our stormy pattern is going to continue with numerous rounds of showers and storms.

It won’t rain the whole time, but when thunderstorms do break out, you’ll know it. The rain will be heavy during the storms and repeated rounds of heavy rain could lead to localized flooding.

The current timing for the strongest storms looks to be late Wednesday afternoon, Thursday evening and Friday. Not everyone will see strong storms during each of these time periods, but these are the times most likely to see strong to severe storms.

The strongest storms will be capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60 mph. Stay alert and weather aware with the Severe Weather Team 11 app which sends you warnings and alerts.
