Storms to move in through Western Pennsylvania

PITTSBURGH — Not a wash out this weekend but showers and storms will likely be around in the area this evening. A few storms could become severe. Heavy rain, frequent lightning and damaging winds can’t be ruled out.

Channel 11 is tracking the storms and will provide updates as they become available.

Very warm and humid for Father’s Day, highs will reach the low to mid 80s. Most of the day on Sunday will be dry but we could have an early morning thundershower or a stray pop-up storm in the afternoon.

Best chance for storms will come Monday afternoon and evening. Monday will be hot and humid, highs will push into the upper 80s. A few storms could become severe in the afternoon. You’ll need to be weather aware and watch for heavy rain, damaging winds and possible hail.

Lingering showers will be around Tuesday morning before clearing. Much cooler air moves in behind this system, highs will only reach the low 70s through Wednesday.
