Sunshine and warmth will only last through Sunday, cold front starts Monday

PITTSBURGH — Sunshine will be abundant, and so will the heat. Highs will be in the mid-to-upper 80s across the area. Lows will be near 60 degrees.

Changes are on the way this workweek. A cold front will spark showers and storms, then it will usher in cold air into western Pennsylvania.

Monday starts dry and will be mostly dry during the daylight hours. Storms will march in from the west during the late afternoon into the evening hours. Storms could produce heavy rain, frequent lightning, hail, and damaging winds. Isolated severe storms are possible. Severe storms will be capable of producing 60 mph winds and hail the size of quarters. Stay aware of the weather through the second half of the day. Have multiple ways of receiving warnings.

Rain could linger into Tuesday morning, but Tuesday will be mostly dry. Cooler air settles into the area Tuesday and by Wednesday, highs will dip into the 40s.
