Sweater weather settling in heading into weekend

Chilly temps this weekend-lows in the 30s and 40s

PITTSBURGH — Sweater weather settles in as we close the week and head into the weekend.

Chilly mornings and cool days will remind us that summer is on the way out. Temperatures will climb into the mid-60s Friday, but clearing skies and calm winds will allow the mercury to fall into the upper-30s and low-40s.

Some areas could see a little patchy frost early Saturday and Sunday, especially north and east of Pittsburgh.

Dry weather will be perfect for a walk in the park or a bike ride, but take a sweatshirt or light jacket with you.

It’s also a good time for fall lawn cleanup, but if you fertilize or plant grass seed, you’ll need to water.
