Icy conditions, fresh snow coating possible by Tuesday morning

PITTSBURGH — All Winter Storm Warnings expired by 7 p.m. Monday evening, according to the National Weather Service. That doesn’t mean things are going to be great yet.

Many areas of the region saw between 6 inches and a foot of snow from this system. Crews are still working to clear roads and people are still digging out.

Blowing snow and snow showers could make things icy again for Tuesday morning. Some areas could see a fresh coating of snow as well.

Temperatures will climb into the 40s in areas on Wednesday giving us a brief break in the chilly weather. Another blast of arctic air is on the way, however.

Temperatures will drop into the single digits early Friday and Saturday with some areas below zero. That’s cold enough to freeze pipes and create dangerous conditions for pets left outside.

Additionally, any snow or ice you don’t get off the driveway or sidewalk might be sticking around for a while.
