Man, 45, dies after head-on crash on Mifflin Road

PITTSBURGH — One of two people hospitalized Friday evening after a head-on crash on Mifflin Road has died, Pittsburgh police said.

The accident was reported around 5 p.m. in the 700 block of Mifflin Road. %

Authorities said one of the drivers, identified as Brian Coker, 45, of Homewood, was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead about 5:45 p.m.

The other person was walking and alert but was also taken to Mercy Hospital to be checked, police said.

Mifflin Road was closed for more than an hour while authorities investigated the crash.
