Arrest made in fatal shooting of man in West Oakland

PITTSBURGH — An arrest was made last Friday in the fatal shooting of a man earlier this month in Pittsburgh’s West Oakland neighborhood, police said on Tuesday.

Ronald Satterwhite, 26, of the Hill District, was taken into custody without incident by Pittsburgh Bureau of Police detectives and the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force.

Satterwhite is accused of shooting Wade L. Howard, 20, twice in the chest on Sept. 9 in the hallway of an apartment building on De Raud Street.

Howard, who is also from the Hill District, was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital, investigators said.
