Following a 3-1 loss to Boston last week, Crosby said Monday he noticed a recurrence of the problems that sidelined him for more than 10 months earlier this year.

The Penguins captain told Channel 11's Bill Phillips after the Bruins game that he didn't feel well and met with his team of doctors. An impact test was administered, and it was much better than the one Crosby took earlier this year after his first concussion.

Crosby went on to say that he worked out on his own late last week and continued to have headaches. Although not as bad as earlier this year, they were enough for him to shut his game down.

"I don't even think frustrating would even describe it. Its not fun watching. It's not fun, but at the same time I look at my impact. I look at some of that stuff and I'm way better off than I was ten months ago," Crosby said.

Crosby sat out Pittsburgh's two-game road trip to Philadelphia and New York as a precaution.

The 24-year-old former MVP said there is no timetable for his return but he will definitely not play on Tuesday against Detroit.

Crosby has 12 points in eight games this season, but hasn't scored a goal since netting two in his season debut on Nov. 23 against the Islanders.

Crosby called the setback beyond frustrating but stressed it was important to be safe.
