Dozens Of Suspected Drug Dealers Targeted In Beaver County Sting

MIDLAND, Pa.,None — Police in Beaver County targeted dozens of suspected dealers in a drug sting on Friday.

Officers in Midland arrested low-level drug-dealing suspects in an effort to get to the larger players in the organizations.

"We have to. This is a growing community. We are out there, and this is just the first wave," said Midland Police Chief Joe D'Itri.

Channel 11 News crews captured the arrests of about two-dozen suspects on video.

The sting was the result of a 16-month narcotic operation, police said. Officers were involved in 64 controlled buys, purchasing crack cocaine, heroin and marijuana, police said.

Police said they will carry out another drug sting in the area soon.
