Police are searching for the man who robbed an 86-year-old man at gunpoint outside of a Social Security office in McKeesport.
The victim got into his car across the street from the office, where the armed robber was hiding in the backseat with a gun.
The victim said he got into his car and was ready to drive away when he felt the barrel of a gun press into the back of his head.
“When I got into my car, I felt something in the back of my head and I knew right then and there. The guy says, ‘I am going to kill you,’ and to give (him) the money. I say, ‘Please don’t kill me. I will give you what I have,’” he said.
The main used his quick-thinking skills and negotiated with the gunman.
“I had $150 in my pocket. I gave him five $20 bills and I told him, ‘I have to go to the doctors. I will need $50,’” he said.
The gunman took the money and ran away in an alley. The victim said he went straight to McKeesport police for help.
“I was shaking so bad. I didn’t know I would make it there,” he said. “I was so damn scared. I’m not over this yet."
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
