PENN HILLS, Pa. — Authorities are looking for two people after a 41-year-old man was shot during a home invasion Wednesday afternoon in Penn Hills.
Penn Hills police Chief Howard Burton told Channel 11 News that the home invaders, who were dressed in black, knocked on the front door of the victim’s Jacob Drive home just before 1 p.m. and forced their way in when he answered. The invaders then forced him into his basement, where they handcuffed him behind his back and shot him twice, once in the leg and once in the buttocks, Burton said.
The invaders ransacked the victim’s house and got away with an unknown amount of belongings, the police chief said. The victim, who was left handcuffed in the basement, managed to crawl up the steps, get out of his home and go to his neighbor’s house, where police were called.
Burton said the victim, who was naked from the waist down, was taken to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which appeared to be non-life-threatening.
Authorities said they don’t know the connection between the victim and the home invaders, but confirmed that the home was targeted. Police said no other homes in the area were ransacked.
