“He did not deserve this, and this will not go unanswered,” Kathy Krista, Schubert’s mother, said.

Krista said her son moved to San Antonio, Texas, about a year ago, hoping to pursue a job in construction.

Schubert, 35, was found dead in an apartment in San Antonio April 4, authorities in Texas said. His family marked the one-month anniversary of his death Wednesday with a balloon release and vigil at his grave site in the Munhall Cemetery.

“We are just dealing with all of this. The family has come together in a way we didn't expect,” Ronald Schubert, the victim’s father, said.

With few leads, authorities in Texas have made no arrests in connection with Ronald Schubert’s death.

Crime Stoppers in Texas is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.

Ronald Schubert leaves behind 10 brothers and 21 nieces and nephews. His mother and father said they’re desperate for closure and justice.

“He did not die that day. He was murdered. That is not his day of death, and that is how I feel in my heart and soul. He was taken from this family who cares for him and loves him,” Krista said.
