While many stores are pledging to stay closed on Thanksgiving, Macy’s is moving forward with plans to not only open on the holiday, but to open earlier than last year.
According to bestblackfriday.com, at least five Macy's stores across the country will open at 5 p.m. That is an hour earlier than in 2014 and 2015.
While Macy's has not officially commented, bestblackfriday.com received confirmation from five malls that their stores are opening at 5 p.m.
They are:
- Ala Moana Center (Honolulu, HI) – 5 p.m. Thanksgiving to 10 p.m. Black Friday
- Scottsdale Fashion Square (Scottsdale, AZ) – 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thanksgiving and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Black Friday
- Cherry Hill Mall (Cherry Hill, NJ) – 5 p.m. Thanksgiving to 10 p.m. Black Friday
- Moorestown Mall (Moorestown, NJ) – 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thanksgiving and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Black Friday
- Christiana Mall (Newark, DE) – 5 p.m. Thanksgiving to 10 p.m. Black Friday
There was no immediate word on whether any Pittsburgh-area stores will be open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving.
