ROME — A 3-year-old American girl's visit to Rome is going viral after she caused a bit of a stir with Pope Francis.
Estella Westrick got a chance to meet the pope Wednesday at the Vatican. As the pope went to kiss her cheek, the toddler proceeded to take his skullcap.
Francis and his aides, as well as Estella's family, had a good laugh.
The cap is called a zucchetto, which means "small gourd" in Italian. The pope is the only Roman Catholic Church clergy member who wears a white one.
