I-79 reopens after fiery tractor-trailer crash near Bridgeville Interchange

SOUTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A part of Interstate 79 near the Bridgeville Interchange was shut down after a tractor-trailer caught on fire following a crash.

The southbound lanes were both shut down between Exit 54 (Bridgeville) and Exit 48 (Southpointe/Hendersonville) and reopened just after 6 p.m. Thursday, according to state police.

In a video sent to Channel 11, we could see the fire sending heavy smoke into the air.

PennDOT cameras showed a tractor-trailer pulled over on the side of the road.
