“That was my baby brother. I love him. I'll always love him,” said Justin Clark’s sister, Marissa Carter.

Police said Clark was shot at the Monroe Meadows Apartments Monday night and died a short time later at Forbes Hospital.

His family and friends have been struggling to cope.

“We’re all dealing with it terribly. Justin is the last person you’d expect this to happen to,” said Nychell Jones, one of Clark’s friends.

At least 50 of Clark’s friends and classmates gathered at the spot he was found to light candles and comfort one another.

Clark’s stepfather, Tony Peres, encouraged Clark’s friends and peers to go down the right path, to stay out of trouble and not to get caught up in street violence.

“He was a jewel. He was an angel. Those out there who know, you took an angel from his family,” said Perez.

Allegheny County police continue to investigate Clark’s death.

Investigators are urging anyone who lives in the area to call Allegheny County police if they saw or heard anything the night of the shooting.
