PITTSBURGH — Authorities are investigating after a man was found shot twice in the chest inside a car in a church parking lot Friday morning.
According to police, 33-year-old Leonard Young was found in the parking lot across the street from the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in the city’s Larimer neighborhood around 8 a.m.
“No weapons. The back window was out of the car, and I’m assuming that was from the gunshots,” police spokeswoman Sonya Toler said.
Neighbors told detectives they heard gunfire around 3 a.m., but no one called police until the body was discovered.
“It’s sad. I know it’s somebody’s child and somebody’s brother,” said a jitney driver.
Authorities haven’t released any information about a potential motive or suspects.
