Medical examiner IDs man shot, killed in Garfield

GARFIELD, Pa. — The medical examiner has identified the victim of a deadly shooting in Garfield late Wednesday night.

Officials said 24-year-old Ronald Somerville Jr., of Pittsburgh, was found shot to death just before 10 p.m. on Broad Street.

Investigators said Somerville was standing on Broad Street when a tall black male with a hooded sweatshirt approached him on foot and pointed a gun at him.

Police said Somerville struggled with the attacker before being shot several times.

So far, no arrests have been made. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact police.
