ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. - A local couple has withdrawn their son from his school and filed an assault complaint with Ellwood City police after they said their son was assaulted on his school bus.
Marvin and Lisa Mackey said they saw surveillance video of students beating and bullying their 8-year-old son, Nasario.
The Mackeys said the Sept. 20 incident was brutal and lasted about 15 minutes.
“There was a child that knelt down and started to punch him,” Lisa Mackey said.
According to the Mackeys, the video showed their son being put in a headlock, punched in the face and midsection and choked.
“The bus driver did absolutely nothing. She states she didn’t see anything,” Lisa Mackey said.
The school’s superintendent confirmed that an incident took place, and district administrators are dealing with it, but had no other comment.
The Mackeys said the bus driver is still driving the bus, and the three students involved were not suspended.
