LIGONIER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Photographs of the widow and K-9 partner of a Ligonier Township police officer who was killed in the line of duty serve as a fitting tribute to the bond the three shared.
Lt. Eric Eslary died in a crash with a wrong-way driver on Route 30 in May. Christy Boyd was the photographer at his memorial and funeral and was also behind the camera to capture the photos of his wife and K-9 partner, Blek.

Boyd said she has been inspired by the strength of Eslary's wife, Mary Beth Eslary.
"I was just in awe, thinking this woman is so strong, and she's thinking of others when she's in a time of healing," said Boyd.
The pictures she took of Mary Beth Eslary and Blek have gone viral, with nearly 8 million views on Facebook alone.
"Overwhelming, never had any idea. Never thought anything like this would happen," said Boyd, who took up photography after her stepson was killed in a car accident in 2008.
Boyd now helps other families heal through her photos, which she takes for donations in her stepson's memory.
"We know that every picture we have is a cherished memory, that it's priceless," said Boyd.
