Police: Getaway driver helping suspect flee authorities nearly hits officer

ROSTRAVER, Pa. — A man and woman led Rostraver police on a chase Monday before eventually trying to run the officers over with a car, police said.

Authorities said officers were trying to serve several warrants Patrick Aiello when he escaped through a window at the Relax Inn.

The officers chased Aiello through the woods, and he was eventually picked up by a friend, Tracy Myers, police said.

According to police, as Myers was picking up Aiello, she almost side-swiped an officer as he tried to stop Aiello from getting in the car.

Myers and Aiello were arrested a short time later, police said.

Authorities have not released any other information about the incident.
