Pittsburgh Police investigating after body found near Ohio River

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Police said that a body was found near the Ohio River on Saturday.

According to the police blotter, River Rescue, Pittsburgh EMS and Pittsburgh Police responded to Doerr Street at around 5:30 p.m. for the report of a body found near the river.

A kayaker directed first responders to the location on the shore.

River Rescue transported the victim to its North Short boathouse, for transfer to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.

Police said the identity and cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
