Police: Man facing assault charges after threatening officers

PITTSBURGH — A man was arrested early Friday morning after police said he threatened officers who responded to his South Side home for a report of a fight.

Channel 11’s Renee Kaminski reported that a neighbor called 911 after hearing what he thought was a big fight.

"I heard glass breaking.  I heard someone beating on the walls and someone screaming," said a neighbor.

When police arrived at the Telescope Street home, authorities said Nicholas Murphy threatened the officers.

Investigators said Murphy never threw a punch, but was charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.

The neighbor who called police told Kaminski that he heard Murphy screaming at the cops.
