Police searching for man accused of soliciting sex from juvenile on social media

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. — Police in Beaver Falls have filed charges against a 60-year-old man accused of soliciting oral sex from a 14-year-old girl on social media.

According to the criminal complaint, Steve Moore allegedly sent the girl a message on Facebook offering $50 for oral sex.

Investigators said the girl told Moore to leave her alone and she showed the message to her grandmother. They then contacted authorities.

Authorities obtained a search warrant for Moore's Facebook page and found evidence supporting the claim.

According to the police report, police aren't sure how many potential juveniles Moore may have contacted online.

On Friday, Channel 11's Dave Bondy talked with a parent who said their child was mentioned in the criminal complaint, but the case didn't have enough evidence for charges to be filed.

The mother said police came to her door and told her that Moore may have sent an obscene picture to her son with his Facebook messaging app in July.

"He didn't even tell me.  He told another little girl.  I was like, 'Stuff like that, you have to tell me so we can fix it and take care of it," said the mother.

The mother said her son deleted the photo as soon as he got it.

Moore is charged with promoting prostitution, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors, police said. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
