Police continue search for man, getaway vehicle in Shaler home invasion

SHALER, Pa. — Police are searching for a man after an armed home invasion in Shaler Friday afternoon left a woman with minor injuries.

Investigators said around 2:45 p.m., an armed man, who neighbors say the woman did not know, made his way into her house on Seavey Road while a she was inside.

Neighbors said he pointed a gun at the woman and took her purse before leaving.

Channel 11’s Jennifer Tomazic spoke with the neighbor who helped the woman call 911, and she said Seavey Road is a quiet street and it’s very unusual for something like this to happen.

Police said they believe the robber got into a red station wagon with dark tinted windows. Authorities also said the car may have the Pennsylvania license plate HTX 6159.

Police said they did not have a description of the person driving the getaway car, but the woman inside the home was able to give police a detailed description of the man who she said robbed her.

She described him as a white man in his 30s around 5 feet 6 inches with a medium build and short hair. She also said he had on khaki shorts.

Anyone with information on the robber or getaway vehicle is asked to call police.
