Search warrant raid seizes heroin, $33K in cash, wanted suspect

DONORA, Pa. — Police operated a search warrant Wednesday in Washington County and busted a major heroin operation, according to District Attorney Eugene Vittone.

Vittone said detectives found more than 3,700 baggies of heroin, more than $33,000 in cash and a loaded revolver at a home on Fifth Street in Donora Borough.

Authorities said the investigation focused on the heroin and crack cocaine trafficking of Ashleigh Byrd, 38, and Quinte Crane, 34.

Byrd, Crane and Rondell Lawrence, 27, were arrested and face drug and firearms charges, officials said.

Police said Crane was taken to the Allegheny County Jail for existing arrest warrants, and Byrd was taken to the Westmoreland County Jail on a probation detainer.

"This operation underscores the need for cooperative police work, and I appreciate the efforts of the Pennsylvania State Police, Donora Police Department, Washington County Sheriffs Office and the detectives of the Washington County Drug Task Force in eliminating this major heroin operation in the Mon Valley." Vittone said.

"We will continue to focus our efforts on eliminating and prosecuting dangerous drug dealers operating in Washington County," he added.
