HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has advised consumers to discard any goat-milk chevre cheeses bought from Apple Tree Goat Dairy in Juniata County, although no illnesses have been reported from the food.
The department urged consumers not to eat the cheese only as a precaution and said the vat pasteurizer used by the dairy did not meet the requirements for pasteurization because of the lack of a chart recorder.
