Victim fatally hit by train in Fayette County identified as Belle Vernon man

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Belle Vernon area man was apparently struck and killed by a train early Saturday in Fayette County.

Washington Township police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Sandor Macz, 39, said Fayette County Coroner Dr. Phillip Reilly.

A autopsy indicated that Macz died of blunt force trauma, Reilly said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene in the incident that was reported at 3:15 a.m.

Reilly said the victim's family identified him Saturday evening. A manner of death has not been determined. Toxicology results are pending.
