Trial of man accused of shooting pregnant woman closing

PITTSBURGH — Closing arguments are expected in the trial of a man accused of having killed a pregnant western Pennsylvania woman after he and a co-defendant went to rob her boyfriend.

Marlin Kelly, 29, is charged with homicide, homicide of an unborn child, robbery and conspiracy in the October 2012 shooting death of 19-year-old Conekia Finney, who was about seven months pregnant.

Kelly testified last week that he went to the apartment with 33-year-old Tyrone Fuller but left to make a drug deal, then heard a gunshot as he returned and saw Fuller fleeing.

Fuller pleaded guilty last month to homicide and homicide of an unborn child in an agreement under which he would serve 13 to 30 years in state prison.
