Police said the victim was struck in the head multiple times with a handgun as Cook sexually assaulted her.
On Friday, police said that they received information on Thursday that Cook was in Savannah, Georgia. With the help of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, he was taken into custody.
“I don’t have to worry when I come home from work…these street lights have been out and I come home around 12:30, and I look up down the street before I get out of my car,” said Denise Jones.
“The kids weren’t out as much... we all were kind of nervous,” Allison Osman said.
Cook is also a person of interest in two other sexual assaults in Wilmerding; one in July 2015 and the other in Feb. 2014.
