BEAVER FALLS, Pa. - The Beaver County coroner has identified a woman who drowned Saturday afternoon in the Beaver River in Beaver Falls.
Pheran Hoschar, 29, of Beaver Falls, died after she was pulled underwater in a secluded area of the river about 12:30 p.m. Saturday. A man who was with her was unable to help her, officials said.
Beaver Falls Fire Department Chief Mark Stowe said, “The gentleman who was with her, his cellphone wouldn't even work down in that area so he actually had to climb to the top of the hill to get cellphone coverage to notify first responders.”
