Woman found dead in river near Mon Wharf identified

PITTSBURGH — A woman’s body was found in the river near the Mon Wharf Thursday morning.

River Rescue responded to the area around 9:30 a.m. When they arrived, medics determined the woman was dead.

A medical examiner has identified the woman as 38-year-old Gloria Anderson from Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh police Major Crimes detectives are investigating.

The cause of death will later come from the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.
