BEAVER, Pa. — The ex-boyfriend of a woman who was found dead Monday morning in a Beaver County home, is being brought back to Pennsylvania to face a murder charge after being arrested in Kentucky.
Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier said Edward Baker Jr. is believed to have killed Addaleigh Huzyak, 30, whose body was discovered in the Third Street home. The Beaver County coroner said Tuesday that Huzyak died from a gunshot wound to the head and ruled the manner of her death as homicide.
Baker was arrested in Winchester, Kentucky, shortly after 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. According to police, he drove more than 20 hours before a confrontation with officers at a rest stop.%

Channel 11's Amy Marcinkiewicz reported that when police confronted Baker, he refused to get out of his vehicle, saying, “No, I am not getting out. Just shoot me and kill me now.”
"Family members were talking to him as well as some law enforcement personnel, trying to get him to surrender so nobody else would get hurt,” Pennsylvanian State Police Lt. Eric Hermick said.
When officers tried to pull Baker out of the car, they said he put it in reverse and dragged one officer while nearly hitting two others.
“There was a brief struggle. They attempted to subdue him. He sped off, leading officers on a pursuit,” said Officer James Hall of Winchester police in Kentucky.
Baker was taken into police custody unharmed after a short chase, authorities said.
In a search warrant exclusively obtained by Channel 11, police believe baker committed the murder and then went directly to his father’s house in Brighton Township.
In the warrant, police alleged several action Baker took including Baker going directly to his father’s house and leaving a suicide note. The warrant stated police also believe Baker’s father found an empty box of ammunition.
Knowing Baker is a lifetime Megan’s Law offender, police immediately contacted the woman he assaulted in 2010 after he fled the state.
Chopper 11 flew over the scene in Beaver County on Monday, where crime tape was visible and the state police crime unit was present.
After Baker did not show up for work Sunday night, police said his co-workers told them Monday morning that they had reason to believe he had hurt his ex-girlfriend. They feared for her life because the couple had just broken up.
Police said Huzyak’s body was found in an upstairs bedroom of the home.
A note left by Baker, who officials told Marcinkiewicz took off with a gun and was suicidal, was also found.
Marcinkiewicz also confirmed that Baker is a registered sex offender.
Investigators told Channel 11 News that Baker’s cell phone will be key in the case.
“He was texting family members (while on the run),” Hermick said.
Detectives said Baker had his phone on him at all times while he was on the run from police for nearly 20 hours, staying in constant communication with his father.
According to the criminal complaint obtained by Channel 11 News, one text that Baker sent his father read, “The voices made me do it. I can't take ‘em (sic) anymore. They won't go away.”
The complaint also revealed that Baker’s father stopped at the gas station where he son failed to report to work on Monday, told employees that Baker had just killed his girlfriend and was on the run. He asked that no one say anything, but employees immediately called police, the complaint said.
Baker remained in a Kentucky jail on Tuesday. Troopers from Beaver County plan to bring Baker back to Pennsylvania to face murder charges.
