Man shot inside car drives himself to Mercy hospital

PITTSBURGH — A man who was shot less than one mile from a Pittsburgh hospital drove himself there, according to Pittsburgh police.

Channel 11's Steven Fisher spotted a car with several bullet holes outside the emergency room of UPMC Mercy on Wednesday morning.

The diver’s-side window was shot out and the front windshield was pierced twice by bullets.

A woman told Fisher that the victim is her brother and that he was expected to be released from the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators said the man was shot while driving on Dinwiddie Street.

No arrests have been made.
