Man wanted in connection with shooting of woman during home invasion surrenders to police

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — A man wanted in connection with a home invasion robbery in McKeesport over the weekend has surrendered to police.

A woman was shot in the head during the incident early Saturday morning on Union Avenue. She was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.

Several people who were inside the home told police that three men were responsible.

Investigators determined that one of those men was 22-year-old Derrick Hampton.

Hampton was taken to the Allegheny County Jail Tuesday morning to await arraignment on charges of aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, attempted homicide, firearms violations and recklessly endangering another person.
