Mother pleads for help finding son's killer

A mother is pleading for answers after he son was shot and killed just hours after he left the restaurant where they were both working.

Ahmad Foreman, 18, of Pittsburgh, was gunned down in Garfield on Sunday night, and his mother, Jessica Kelly said she has no idea why.

“The last time I saw him was when I was leaving work. We work together -- we work at Lydia’s. He’s a dishwasher. I saw him before I left work and told him I loved him,” Kelly said.

Neighbors said they heard five shots on Fannel Street, then nothing more.

“I was just calling him and texting him over and over again. It wasn’t like him no to answer nobody, and when I was getting ready to go home, that’s when I got the call,” Kelly said. “I lost it. That's a call that every parent dreads, unfortunate to say but, in this community, it’s an even bigger dread. It's something that's a constant worry.”

She said the heartfelt cards and condolences mean a lot to their family, but what they need now is answers.

She asked her son’s friends to help solve his murder.

“Stand up for him. Say something. You don’t even have to leave your name. Just say something, anything to help, because you know he didn’t deserve this,” she said.

She said when her son was young, he lived for football. When he grew up, he lived for family.

“He always brought laughter into this house,” she said. To his killer, she said, “You took a big piece of us away.”

Investigators said the search continues for the killer, and his death has been ruled a homicide. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
