Deputies say a Florida police officer was arrested after he broke the jaw of a teenager he believed was having sex with his daughter, news reports state.
Police officer Lowrie Simon, 37, attacked the 17-year-old boy around 8:30 a.m. Sunday at Pembroke Park Church of Christ, according to a Broward County sheriff's arrest report obtained by NBC 6 Miami.
According to the report, Simon approached the teen to ask if he was having sex with his 13-year-old daughter. When the teen said he was not, Simon punched him in the chest and face, the report said.

The teen was taken to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital to be treated for a broken jaw and damage to his bottom teeth, NBC 6 stated.
Simon, a police officer at Opa-locka since 2014, was booked into jail on a charge of felony battery. He has been placed on paid leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
